  3. it has taken me about 4 hours to go throught this whole blog _ I like it a lot, Im really into that gogo lemon tea and many japanese bands like Dir en grey, and L’arc en ceil, I wonder if you get bombarded by advertising like I do, I was watching utaban the other day and the gogo tea add came on and I felt like I “needed” tea…..think there is any subliminal messaging in that?

  7. Duct-taping a couple missiles together and saying you invented a new one; brilliant!

Shooting it at Saleem because Iran is stealing all of George Bush’s attention; not brilliant. Kid Ethnic is gonna bring the ruckus now North Korea. You goin’ down.

  8. Pyongyang – July 7, 2006

Today Kim Jong Il addressed a large crowd of 10 North Koreans who gathered in a show of support for the recent missle launches aimed at Saleem. Kim Jong Il defended his decision to fire the missles at Saleem by stating, “He single handedly cause price of ‘Children’s Beer’ to skyrocket by hoarding world supply of tasty beverage.” It is well-known throughout East Asia that the dictator has an affinity for the refreshing taste of Children’s Beer and has been known to torture and starve his own citizens when deprived of his favorite concoction.

    Nice going Saleem.

  9. Man, are YOU egocentric!

He’s clearly shooting at the 5678s in retaliation for unleashing upon the world that song from Kill Bill and, subsequently, the Vonage commercials.

    Duh!

  10. Hannah: It’s true. You need that tea. Now.

Michael: Way to bring the hotness. Good stuff, Weaver.

Byzek: If I may take it back old-school for a moment...—-
“They’re trying to kill me,” Yossarian told him calmly.

“No one’s trying to kill you,” Clevinger cried.

“Then why are they shooting at me?” Yossarian asked.

“They’re shooting at everyone,” Clevinger answered. “They’re trying to kill everyone.”

“What difference does that make?” ——
And I don’t know anything about American commercials, but I love me some 5678s. Does everyone stateside hate them now?
    saleem    1521 days ago    #

  11. I dunno if anybody really hates them, but leave it to any US marketing firm to ensure that a song will be roundly detested by all.

Oh, and I never actually read Catch-22. In fact, if I recall correctly, I scored a 55 on that test. Perhaps Mags and I should have actually watched the movie that night instead of…

    ...talking…
    Byzek    1520 days ago    #

  12. Nice try, Jeff. I never finished Catch-22 either – it never sat right with me. And here I thought it was a gender thing…

And um, sorry to be so uncool: what are the 5678s?

  13. They’re the group that sings that WooHoo song in the Vonnage commercials.
That song makes me want to rip my eardrums out.
    andy    1517 days ago    #

  14. Yeah, that WooHoo song gives me a kneejerk-mute-button reaction anytime I see Vonage orange. And, hey, Pyongyang, leave my family alone! We’re coming back and we’d like Japan to still BE THERE when we get there!
    maruchan    1515 days ago    #

  15. Yo Saleem, you should fix your rhetoric here: He’s not shooting at you, he’s shooting at freedom.
