The Young Boy Who Chased Liberty and Pets · 8 June 07

And, lo, there are times when things need not follow a strict structural flow.

Times when 5-paragraph essays will not suffice.

For there are things, my people, that rest beyond logic.

i.e., the twisting brilliance of another student journal entry, reproduced here in it's entirety:

Hello Saleem,

America is freedom.

I want to look for the Statue of Liberty!

My dog is running so fast that I couldn't follow my dog!

That's cool, man. I can dig that.

IN OTHER NEWS:
It's been a long time. I should not have left you so.

  2. Sorry if I post this twice—thought it already went through. Anyway, you’d added me as a Flickr contact a while back (username “andorus”) and I found your blog link from there. Just wanted to say hi and that I’ve enjoyed reading—I really like your style, and the alpaca song is amazing!

  3. Hey Andorus, thanks! I’m gonna try to record some new songs over summer, too.

ANDY: Man, I just kind of spent a lot of time studying for a bit there. Not much one can write about struggling to memorize a couple thousand Japanese pictograms, unfortunately.

    But I’m back.

  4. Freedom is ubiquitous. It’s you, it’s America, it’s the Statue of Liberty, and the dog running without being caught. Totally makes sense.
