It’s not all typhoons here on Kyushu island…

(Shot from from my apartment stairwell.)
For some reason the sunsets in-between storms have been absurd lately. They’re the sort of airborne blaze-of-glory usually reserved for stock-photo backgrounds in corporate inspirational posters.
(You know, like, Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, ‘I will try again tomorrow.’ Only 8.95 plus shipping and handling, yo.)
It just seems like it’s mostly typhoons.
I just finished my first real month here, and the typhoonage seems unnecessarilly high. And Totally Completely True™ official statistics back me up!
The nice and concise Tropical Cyclones Database says Japan norally gets 2.6 typhoons a year.
Tomorrow we’re going to get hit by this 2004’s number five.
We’re way ahead of pace! They say it will be the strongest yet! Everyone at school is running around yelling crazy things in Japanese! I don’t understand them, but feel confident that the thigns they are saying would demand exclamation points!
Not that this half-blood is scared. I’ll be reporting back to you Wednesday morning ( Tuesday evening, E.S.T.)
And I’ll be sure to do it with Courage.

I ran into your brother at the NC State football game this weekend. He was out enjoying the tailgating and dodging bullets with the rest of us.
This has nothing to do with typhoons or sunsets, but I thought I’d drop a comment since I hadn’t yet.
Respect. West Side. (said in unison with a finger whip) ((if you don’t understand this…please inquire at your convenience.))
