Japanese Genius Boy Answers Your Question · 3 December 04

Students of Yushinkan Senior High School: Your weirdo awesomeness shatters my pancreas with joy!

We just gave an essay test to the first-years. Students had to write two one-paragraph responses, and could chose from a list of topics.

Prompts included “My Favorite Movie”, “My Favorite Food”, and “What I Did at the School Festival”, among others.

But glorious youth always trumps mediocrity! (Sometimes!)

My favorite essay response, reprinted here in it’s entirety (spelling corrected * , emphasis original author’s own):

Feelin’ good.IT’S PARADISE!

Brilliant.

But mysterious.

And so I turn to you, my virtual friends: What the hell question was this the brilliant answer to?

Bonus Mystery Factor: He answered a second essay question quite well, ruling out lack of English or total test-apathy as motivating factors for this stunning creation.

The answer is out there. In the form of a question, please.

*Original author’s spelling: “Fellin’ good – IT’S PARADICE!”

  1. What I did at the school festival?

Did they have a craps table, maybe? Did this kid win big? Did you misinterpret the second misspelling by failing to separate out “It’s a pair of dice!”?

Feelin’ good – It’s a pair of dice.

    Words to live by.

  6. Obviously, his favorite movie is one of the following:

-”Feelin’ Good” (1966): An ex-GI returns home from the war and tries to take up where he left off with his family and friends

-”Feeling Good” aka “Feelin’ Good” (1974): A lunchonette called Mac’s Place. Through the health problems and behavior of its residents, and through songs, sketches and animation, and documentary segments, tips on staying healthy are presented.

-”What’s So Bad About Feeling Good?” (1968): Drop the net!! It’s the wildest honeymoon two lovers ever spent! A new infection that simply makes people feel happy is treated as a threat by the authorities while its “victims” work to spread it to others.

    -”Feeling Good About Yourself” (1980)

Or possibly even one of these two long-shots (if IMDB came up with them, maybe he did too):
-”Pad u raj (Falling in the Paradise)”(2004)

-”The Fable of One Samaritan Who Got Paralysis of the Helping Hand” (1914)
